About the doctor
Dr Faisal is a UK- and Australian-trained doctor with a broad background in emergency medicine, acute and internal medicine, and telehealth. He trained at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, UK, before moving to Australia, where he has worked as a Resident Medical Officer and Service Medical Registrar at Fiona Stanley Hospital, including in high-acuity care areas, and continues as a locum medical registrar across acute and emergency departments nationwide.
As a TGA-recognised Advanced Prescriber, Dr Khan now also works in telehealth with a focus on medical cannabis and complementary medicine, taking an individualised, evidence-based approach to patient assessment and prescribing. A keen educator, he regularly teaches junior doctors and medical students, and speaks English, Urdu, Arabic and Malay.
What is an Authorised Prescriber?
An Authorised Prescriber (AP) is a doctor that has already received authority from the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) to write medicinal cannabis prescriptions which means you’ll experience none of the wait time associated with other access pathways, such as the SAS pathway.
